Job Summary
The Systems Administrator will manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, endpoint security, backups, and core business systems. This role installs, configures, updates and monitors hardware and software to support reliable, secure operations across company locations. The Systems Administrator also troubleshoots escalated issues, supports backup and recovery procedures, collaborates with IT team members to assist end users, enforces security standards, and helps plans future technology improvements that align with organization needs and industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintain a secure, reliable and up-to-date computing environment by identifying vulnerabilities, resolving system issues, and performing upgrades.
- Develop, maintain, and test incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to support timely recovery from outages, security events and business disruptions.
- Establish and manage network standards by working with cross-functional teams to evaluate workflow needs, access, and security requirements.
- Evaluate and improve network performance by monitoring availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
- Lead network security initiatives, including advanced access controls, multi-factor authentication, regular system/data backups, and firewall integrity assessments.
- Mentor the IT Help Desk team and provide escalated support for complex technical issues.
- Partner with the IT Director, Application Developers and Helpdesk Manager to align IT strategy and execution with company objectives.
- Partner with vendors to test, implement, and enhance network systems, infrastructure tools, and related technology solutions.
- Occasional work outside regular business hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support upgrades, infrastructure modifications, and other critical IT tasks.
- Occasional travel to satellite offices as needed to provide hands-on support, ensuring operational IT needs are met across all company locations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in enterprise IT.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and substantial experience, with 4-6 years of enterprise network and server administration experience. Strong expertise in enterprise networking including VLANs, VPNs, routing, network security, and performance optimization, with Cisco certification preferred. Advanced PowerShell skills for scripting and automation, along with experience designing and implementing major network upgrades. Expertise in managing Active Director/Azure, including NPS, RADIUS, and complex Group Policies. Experience with construction industry applications such as Viewpoint, B2W, HCSS, and Bluebeam is preferred by not required.
- Certificates/Licenses: Preferred certifications such as MCSE, CCNP.
- Computer Skills: High level knowledge of Office 365, SQL, Azure, Veeam, SharePoint, VMWare, and Veeam and Windows Server deployment (2012-2019). Mastery in enterprise networking concepts, with Cisco Meraki or Cisco accreditation being a substantial advantage. Security applications knowledge of CrowdStrike and Mimecast.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders across the organization.
- Organization and Planning: Availability for off-hour work and willingness to travel as needed to support and integrate remote sites.
- Problem Solving: Outstanding problem-solving capabilities, strategic planning skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks while focusing on high-quality outcomes.

- Able to safely ascend or descend step ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds in all directions without assistance.
- May work in areas where hazardous substances are present.

- $121,083/year – $169,517/year
