Job Summary
The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that aligns with West Valley Construction Company’s goals. Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand their staffing needs, attract diverse and high-caliber candidates, and ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives, ensuring a proactive and agile approach to talent needs.
- Recruitment Process Management
- Develop and oversee the end-to-end recruitment processes, from job requisition to onboarding, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and a positive candidate experience.
- Ensure compliance with the overall process.
- Talent Sourcing and Acquisition
- Utilize various sourcing methods, including social media, networking, and industry partnerships, to attract top-tier talent.
- Register, manage, and attend job fairs that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop relationships with educational institutions and industry associations to enhance the company’s presence in the talent market.
- Conduct thorough candidate assessments and interviews to identify the best fit for the organization.
- Employer Branding
- Enhance and promote the company’s employer brand to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as universities and industry associations, to strengthen the organization’s presence in the talent market.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Director to establish and enhance the company’s social media presence. Ensure that job postings are captivating and tailored to our audience, utilizing various platforms to reach potential candidates.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand departmental staffing needs, provide guidance on effective talent acquisition strategies, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the company’s internship program, collaborating with department heads to identify internship opportunities, attracting top-tier interns, and ensuring a valuable and educational experience for participants
- Metrics and Reporting
- Implement and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of talent acquisition efforts.
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Compliance
- Stay informed about employment laws and regulations, ensuring that the recruitment process complies with legal requirements and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of proven experience in construction recruitment. Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and branding. Strong knowledge of current trends, best practices, and technologies in talent acquisition.
- Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license in good standings (must be 18 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle).
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and data bases. Proven success using social media and job boards.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with employees and members of management.
- Leadership: Dedicated team member who thrives in a team environment and can also work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to understand and execute basic math skills.
- Organization and Planning: Excellent organizational skills. Detail oriented with the ability to think strategically. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem Solving: Adaptability and flexibility to solve problems through analysis and evaluate alternative solutions.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Hearing adequate to perform job duties in person.
- Able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties and respond to dangerous situations.
- Frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, pushing, and pulling.
- Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and other electronic devices. Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Able to safely ascend or descend step ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds in all directions without assistance.
- May work in areas where hazardous substances are present.
Salary
- $132,600/year – $199,000/year
