Going Green
Going Green
West Valley’s Fleet & Facilities Department was an early adopter of sustainable practices. Our Fleet Sustainability Program is focused on idle reduction, increased fuel economy, and conversion to clean fuel & zero-emission vehicles with the goal of having a zero-emission medium-and heavy-duty fleet by 2040. Our Facilities Sustainability Program is focused on recycling, waste reduction, water conservation and energy-efficient building improvements.
“As an underground construction company our work, the tools and equipment we use along with the maintenance, repair and even the washing of these things is inherently dirty. We have found ways to use water more effectively so that our procedures are cleaner and safer not only for our employees but also for the environment.” Jolie Hughes, Fleet Administrator
